NEWS: ONE STUDENTS ROLE IN A SUCCESS STORY
A Swansea student has played a vital role in enabling a local company to develop a new generation of European payphones geared to accept Euro coinage - which could result in annual sales topping the £2 million mark. And student Kris Sullivan - who is currently studying for a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wales Swansea - has also earned himself a top prize for his project work with telecoms company Small Planet Technology. He was one of 50 students in the West Wales area placed by Cymru Prosper Wales with small and medium sized businesses this summer. His project for Small Planet Technology, based in Swansea's Technium innovation centre, was to develop - within strict time and budgetary constraints - a new coin mechanism for European payphones
